is passing just outside, and then you have got Bud on one side, and an eternity of Ocean on the other.If you have a spare day to use, we advice you to use it on a short trip to Bud. On a sunny summer day you will have an experience of a lifetime.It's just beautiful.
The Harbour of Bud
For hundreds of years, fishing and fish industry has beem a major income for the people in Bud. The sheltered harbour was important for the small fishing boats used in the old days, while it today is a shelter for small boats.
The Church in Bud
The wooden church in Bud has a story to tell about tough life, fishermen that never came back from the stormy ocean, and about the coastal way of living in the old days.The church was build in 1717, and is worth a visit. Because of the war activities the tower was a problem for the German cannons at the coastal fortress, and had to be removed during the war.In 1947 the church got it's tower back.The church in Bud has 250 seats.

For the nostalgic visitor there are many interesting houses in the center of Bud. This is a typical, traditional building from maybe 100 years ago, and looks like it used to be some kind of a grocery.
The Coastal Fortress in Bud
During WW2, Bud was an important point for the German forces, and from the highest point in Bud the soldiers could keep an eye on all the ships passing.Today this is made to a museum, and you can go here to visit and see the remains from the war activity.
